The project involved various disciplines, including interior design, graphic creation and coordination, menu design, logo design, web design, and marketing and packaging design. Responsibilities ranged from brand conception and marketing initiatives to website creation and fabrication communication. The design of the Vento Coffee flagship store reflects the brand's commitment to quality, and personalized customer experience. Strategically located to serve customers in the Broomfield area, the store provides a convenient and welcoming destination for coffee enthusiasts.
The layout is crafted with both functionality and aesthetics in mind, allowing for an easy and seamless customer experience. Distinct sections are dedicated to various offerings, including a coffee bar, seating areas, and retail displays, all presented with a clean, modern aesthetic that highlights both product and practicality. The spacious, open floor plan ensures comfortable navigation, with thoughtfully placed seating areas for relaxation and socialization.
Additionally, the store integrates specialized areas for key services such as a dedicated space for merchandise and on-site events, reinforcing Vento Coffee's mission of enhancing customer engagement through unique experiences. Whether customers are seeking a quick coffee, a place to work, or a venue for social gatherings, this location is designed to elevate their experience with a thoughtful, customer-centric layout and design.
The flagship store spans a total of 14,000 square feet, comprising an 8,000 square foot retail space, but dedicates 1,300 square foot to Vento Coffee.

For the Vento Coffee logo, I aimed to create a visual identity that embodies simplicity and elegance while evoking a sense of calm and nostalgia. The typography is intentionally smooth and flowing, reflecting the meaning of "Vento"—Italian for "wind." This choice not only conveys a sense of movement and lightness but also pays homage to the Dardano family's Italian heritage, seamlessly tying the brand to its roots.
The subtle retro influence in the design adds warmth and familiarity, making the logo feel both modern and timeless. The clean yet distinctive lettering ensures versatility across various brand applications, from signage to packaging, while the carefully chosen color palette enhances the inviting and artisanal feel of the brand.
Vento Coffee’s color palette blends warmth, sophistication, and a touch of nostalgia to create a balanced and inviting brand identity. Earthy tones like Coffee Cream and Latte Brown evoke the richness of handcrafted coffee, while Seafoam Green adds a refreshing, airy quality that reflects the meaning of "Vento." Dark Navy and Stale Purple provide depth and elegance, grounding the design with a subtle retro influence. White serves as a clean foundation, ensuring clarity and contrast across all brand applications. Together, these colors create a timeless yet modern aesthetic that embodies the smooth, welcoming essence of Vento Coffee.
The Vento Coffee menu was designed to seamlessly integrate the brand’s identity, using the core color palette to create a cohesive and visually engaging experience. Each menu—both indoor and drive-thru—is carefully crafted to reflect the warm, inviting aesthetic of the space while maintaining clarity and readability. The brand colors are strategically incorporated to highlight key sections, ensuring a smooth and intuitive customer experience.
To keep the design fresh and reflective of the changing seasons, I update the menus seasonally, incorporating subtle shifts in color, layout, and imagery. This approach not only enhances visual appeal but also reinforces Vento Coffee’s commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, making each visit feel new while staying true to the brand’s identity.
This outdoor drive-thru menu is designed for clarity and visibility, ensuring an effortless ordering experience. High-quality product images are captured in-store using a lightbox, then digitally refined for optimal presentation before being integrated into the menu layout.
These indoor menus are regularly updated to reflect evolving drink trends and new offerings. Each featured photo is captured in-store using a lightbox and then digitally enhanced to ensure optimal visual appeal before being integrated into the updated menu.
Vento Coffee’s website, ventocoffee.com, was custom-built to provide a seamless and efficient online experience. While the platform runs on Shopify, every page was designed and coded from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring a fully customized and branded user experience.
A key feature of the site is its deep integration with the point-of-sale system. Online orders automatically generate printed tickets for the team, streamlining workflow and enhancing order accuracy. Additionally, customers can easily check and redeem their loyalty points by simply entering their phone number, creating a frictionless rewards experience. This combination of thoughtful design and functional integration allows Vento Coffee to offer a modern, intuitive, and customer-friendly digital presence.
